Web Developers (Ruby/HTML/CSS)

These roles are based in Farnborough, Hampshire. Candidates must be willing to commute to the office or relocate. i-neda will not consider any applications from candidates requiring work/visa sponsorship for the UK.

The Role

These roles are for web developers to join our team in Farnborough. Working closely with the User Experience lead, you will be developing web interfaces for our betting and horse racing systems, as well as developing advanced administrative applications for our web applications.

Most of our development is done in Ruby, on Macs, and using script libraries like Prototype and the latest gems. If you like the sound of this then you should apply. Candidates with Ruby experience will obviously have an edge, but if you've done other similar development in the past, or are confident that you can rise to the challenge then please send your details in.

Core Skills

As a talented front end developer, you will have been exposed to many technologies in your career. We're only looking for a few, so this bit should be easy!

  • Experience in developing applications using Ruby on Rails, PHP frameworks or similar scripted environments
  • In depth knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience with Javascript libraries such as Prototype, JQuery or Sproutcore
  • Experience in working with SVN, CVS or similar versioning systems
  • Experience in transforming graphic based designs into functional systems
  • Experience in the full lifecycle of application development from concept to UAT
  • Ability to work with clients on the determination of requirements and solutions

Desirable Skills

Not everyone can fulfil every skill requirement. In conjunction with the above, the following would also be of great assistance in securing your position at i-neda.

  • Understanding of UX feedback tools such as Clixpy
  • Have experience in SEO
  • Have worked in a betting or horse racing environment
  • have designed and built web-applications for devices such as iPhone or Android OS phones
  • Experience in player environments for streaming media
  • Photoshop or Illustrator experience would be useful
  • 1st / 2.1 degree in computing, design or similar
